Joseph McFarland
Client Navigator
Joseph McFarland brings a unique blend of financial, legal, and entrepreneurial experience to his role as a Client Navigator at Jarvis Law Office. With a Bachelor’s Degree in History from The Ohio State University and an MBA in progress at Franklin University, Joseph combines his academic background with a practical, client-focused mindset.
Before joining the firm, Joseph spent over 15 years in finance—working in credit card collections, retail banking, and at a major investment firm. He also owned and operated a successful landscaping company for a decade and gained valuable legal experience working for a large law firm in Columbus. This wide-ranging career has equipped him with the insight and empathy needed to guide families through the estate planning and asset protection process with clarity and care.
Outside the office, Joseph is a dedicated historian and community volunteer. He founded The Far-Land Legacy, a project focused on connecting families and preserving military and local history in Fairfield County. He volunteers at Rock Mill and previously served as a docent at the General Sherman Home and as Webmaster for the Fairfield County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society.
Joseph is also a published author, musician, digital designer, and proud husband and father. He and his wife, Julia—a local florist—have been married for over 20 years and have five children. Recently, they took a three-week road trip across the U.S., exploring national parks and museums as a family—an adventure he hopes to repeat. Joseph’s roots run deep in the region; his ancestors helped found Lancaster and operated historic sites like Rock Mill.
Joseph’s guiding philosophy is simple: “Family is everything. Remember yesterday, live today, and plan for tomorrow, so you can leave a legacy.” He uses his passion for research and storytelling to ask the right questions, uncover meaningful details, and ensure every client feels supported and empowered throughout their planning journey.
